Donations

Every quarter, we proudly donate one dollar from every purchase made on our website to an environmental organization that is helping solve the climate crisis.

We can't stress enough how crucial it is for each of us to do our part and take action in fighting for climate change, but we know that it's impossible to do it alone. Thankfully, there are a multitude of worthy environmental causes doing great work that merit our support, and donating is a simple, yet effective way of making a difference.

Still, we know just how difficult it can be to choose a charity or foundation. While there are many worthy causes out there, it's important to watch out for unethical, high-status non-profits who use donations to fund inflated salaries and administrative costs. Luckily, there is guidance in the disarray. The key lies in charity watchdogs like BBB Wise Giving Alliance and Charity Watch. They continually investigate, monitor, and review charities to ensure they meet the standards for charity accountability. If you're eager to know where a certain cause ranks before contributing, we suggest checking them out to help put you at ease.

This quarter, we are helping recover Canada's formerly vibrant oceans back to health by donating to Oceana, an organization relentlessly working to protect vulnerable and crucial habitats by implementing better science-based management plans.

As Oceana has revealed, "The oceans are vast, but they are not immune to human influence. We have already altered or destroyed marine ecosystems and driven million-year-old species to the brink of extinction. According to a study published in Science, less than 4 percent of the oceans remain unaffected by human activity."

Their strategy to this nocuous problem is to identify practical solutions, and make them happen. Oceana has already successfully campaigned to end the shark fin trade, made rebuilding depleting fish populations the law, improved the way fisheries are managed by reducing by-catch, and much more. You can read about their inspiring story and current campaigns here.
